Department of Environmental Science

The Department of Environmental Studies has 14 professors, three associate professors, five senior engineers and engineers. One academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, two chair professors of T1000 Plan Program, three Cheung Kong Professors, two Cheung Kong Young Scholars, seven granted the Outstanding Young Scientist Award are enrolled in the department, and four received China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists.
The Department explores the spatial characteristics, driving factors and processes of human-land interaction. It focuses on the spatial distribution of toxic substances on the land surface well as its physical, chemical and biological processes, especially the spatial distribution and temporal evolution, and the interaction of various processes and the subsequent economic, environmental and social impacts.
The department has achieved many important achievements in academic research as well as the materialization of research outcomes.
